Drought Contingency

Excessive heat in recent years has taken its toll on the state of Oklahoma, with many areas suffering drought conditions. So in the spring of 2013, the Oklahoma city council approved new water conservation regulations. The policy includes a permanent and mandatory odd/even rotation on watering, and there are more restrictive stages that can be put in effect dased on the level of area lakes.

Cities that use Oklahoma city water are also required to comply with the outdoor watering restrictions as a minimum.

These cities include: Blanchard, Edmond, El Reno, Moore, Mustang, Newcastle, Norman, Piedmont, Yukon, Canadian County Rural Water District #3, the Deer Creek Rural Water Corporation, Tinker Air Force Base and Poottawatomie County Rural Water District #3.

Because Heaston Rural Water District #5 purchases water from El Reno, we are required to comply with these restictions.
